Would the use of The Pink Hip Kit PadTM require a change in positioning the patient on the table? No, as proven clinically by Kollmorgen et al Study: • “Place patient where he or she would be normally with the large post.” • “Try to position as far proximal as possible on the table and have a clear anteroposterior image of the hip.” Which is the ideal location of the Pink Hip Kit PadTM on the table? • Ideal location of the Pink Hip Kit Pad TM will depend on the traction table being used. • Please follow directions outlined in the Instructions For Use based on your table model. How do we position the patient to facilitate anesthesia intubation? • We recommend that whenever possible the patient should be placed on the table where the surgeon will ultimately want the patient positioned. • This will reduce the amount of patient adjustment needed while eliminating the need to slide the patient on the table top. • The Pink Hip Kit PadTM material was designed to prevent patient movement. • If Anesthesia requires the patient to be placed at the head of the table then moved down the bed to accommodate final positioning, a sheet can be used to help lift the patient completely off the Pink Hip Kit PadTM, which is designed to maximize skin contact and prevent patient movement. • The sheet is then rolled up under one side of the patient and then removed from the opposite side. Sliding the patient’s skin across the table surface should always be avoided by lifting and moving the patient to preserve skin integrity and prevent pressure related skin abrasions. 25
